In the abundance of consumer society, I find the influences, materials, and colors for my creative process.
Just as a modern person forms an identity from the relentless stream of impressions showered upon us by the ubiquitous media, my work is the body—a cosmos, micro and macro, in which everything is pregnant with meaning and in which discarded and found objects from the petrochemical cornucopia acquire a new, timeless imagination.
It all comes together in torsos of cast epoxy: a contemporary form for a Venus statue, vulnerable and unapproachable, influenced by everything and entirely itself.
My work is about the flow of abundance and connection. I love the energy of the playful human being: meeting, investigating, finding, experiencing, composing, perceiving, and passing on.
It gives me insight into the process. The action precedes the event. A reference point is formed – it fills up – flying was swimming – chromosomes or stardust – scars or hieroglyphs. Intuitively – breathing new life into it. Dwelling in timelessness and the fragile balance between beauty and decay, and the balance between nature and humanity.
A quest and exploration of the possibilities of the material to connect with one’s own feeling, spirit, and consciousness. With a direct and intuitive way of ordering, whereby new meanings emerge. And images arise through finding.
